Another scam on other’s misfortune

It didn’t take long after the Katrina hurricane for the scam web sites to appear – I’ll not list any because that will just give them exposure. Suffice to say that people are profitting on “donations” to the relief funds – of course the money never makes it to where it’s needed.

After the dreadful events in the southern US, please be wary of so-called relief funds springing up all over the place from little-known organisations. Most of these are scams and use PayPal to collect money. Though they may look official, it’s unlikely the money you donate will ever reach those who need it.
