Change of career

It seems overnight I’ve changed my career and I’m now an electrical contractor with my own van!

Three job titles in three years

… and I haven’t even changed jobs! I’m now known as a Systems Analyst. Previously a Technical Architect and before that a Technical Developer. In three years I’ve not really changed what I do, although of course the projects that we undertake have evolved.

Blocking SMS messages sent to BT landlines

Just a quick post for anyone wanting to block SMS messages being sent to your BT landline – just call 0800 587 5252. You can either allow messages at any time, between 9am-9pm, 8am-11pm, 12am-6am or block altogether. The number to listen to and delete SMS messages is 0845 602 1111

Odd missed phone calls

Over the last few days I’ve had several misssed calls from an 029 number. Since they’ve tried a few times (and genuinely I’ve been unavailable or on another call) but never left a voicemail, I had my suspisions. I’ve recently rediscovered the various applications – whether Win32 or Web Based – that Google provide. I’ve converted my personal email account to GMail to take advatage of the web based and POP3 interface, 2Gb storage, conversation feature – and above all, excellent spam filtering.
