Their work often goes unrecognised – most of the time we’re seen as the strange people sitting in the corner of a field at public events, or the “pouncers” at events like the London Marathon.

This blogger certainly helped raise awareness of the work of St. John. It’s a very interesting and humorous read:

It all went pretty well – had six or so enquries about public first aid courses which kicks off our plans for another course in the autumn, and a fair number of donations – either into the “money spinner” or to our friendly London Marathon runner :)

We had our friendly County Commissioner, County Commander and Sector Officer turn up to see our presence, along with the Town Mayor and other important people!

Was a good day all in all – and a good use of our new shelter.
